Fal.Con 2025: My Experience as a Second-Year Attendee

This was my second year attending Fal.Con, and I have to say — they really know how to step things up each year. I believe the conference doubled in size, growing from about 4,000 attendees in 2024 to over 8,000 this year. The energy was absolutely electric, and it’s clear that Fal.Con is becoming one of the premier cybersecurity events to be at.

Why I Attend Fal.Con

For me, attending Fal.Con isn’t just about the free swag (though, let’s be honest, the swag is pretty great). It’s about:

  • Staying on top of cutting-edge cybersecurity trends
  • Getting real-world insights directly from experts and practitioners
  • Learning how to better leverage the tools my team already uses
  • And most importantly — networking with other IT and security professionals

Every year, I walk away with new ideas, new contacts, and fresh energy to bring back to my team and company.

First Impressions & Swag

My boss and I arrived on Monday just in time to check into our hotel and grab our badges. As always, check-in came with a free sweater — and this year they really stepped it up. The Fal.Con logo stood out proudly on the back, with red accents on the zipper and hoodie strings, plus sponsor logos on the sleeve. The material was much thicker and better quality than last year’s version.

I did miss the fun of customizing a shirt at the booth they had in 2024 (where you could pick your design and watch it get made), but with the larger crowd this year, I completely understand why that wasn’t realistic. Still, the Fal.Con store delivered, with high-quality shirts, sweaters, hats, and my personal win — finally snagging a CrowdStrike jersey I’ve wanted since my first year.

Another fun touch? The free pins scattered throughout the event, which you can add to your lanyard. It’s a small thing, but I always love hunting down the different designs.

The Hub & Vendors

Walking into the Hub feels like stepping into the center of everything — it’s buzzing with vendors, learning zones, and demo stations.

One thing that really stood out is the live, walk-up demo area. You could just approach a station and see pieces of the Falcon platform in action — live demonstrations of integrations, features, and workflows. It feels more like a tech showcase than a sales pitch, which makes it easy to dive in, ask questions, and really see how things work.

The vendors themselves were friendly and low-pressure. There was zero “hard sell.” Everywhere you look: people ready to demo a tool, share how it works, or help you understand how it integrates — without making you feel obligated to commit.

CrowdStrike also sweetened the deal by hosting after-hours events and private gatherings for attendees and customers. These extras give you more chances to connect, relax, and talk shop outside the formal sessions.

Sessions & Learning

Fal.Con makes it easy to get the most out of your time thanks to their app, which lets you browse sessions and build your schedule in advance. This year, I focused on attending sessions around the parts of the CrowdStrike platform that my company already uses or is considering investing in.

That strategy was a game-changer — instead of feeling like I was constantly being sold new products, I was able to dive deeper into what matters for my team right now.

I also love that sessions are short and engaging (typically 20–45 minutes). It’s the perfect balance: enough time to learn something valuable, ask a few questions, and still have time to grab another coffee before the next one.

The speakers were knowledgeable, approachable, and happy to answer questions. Whether it was during sessions, corporate lunches, or networking breaks, I always felt supported and encouraged to learn more.

Final Thoughts

Fal.Con 2025 was bigger, better, and even more inspiring than last year. From the welcoming vendors in the Hub, to the world-class speakers, to the thoughtful touches like free coffee and after-hours events — it’s an experience that makes you feel both valued and empowered.

I always leave Fal.Con with a full notebook of ideas, new connections, and a stronger sense of how I can contribute to the cybersecurity community. If you have the oppurtunity to attend, I highly recommend it!
