Why I started She Tech Collective

Hey everyone! 👋
It’s about time I introduce the face behind She Tech Collective… me! 💻✨

Four years ago, I left a comfortable (but complacent) supervisor role to take an entry-level IT help desk position. I had just bought my first house, had only completed about two semesters of college, and was ready for something more challenging and dynamic.

I’ll be honest — it was intimidating leaving a job I knew well for one I was unsure of, but passionate about. That leap was even harder in a space where I saw little to no representation of women in tech, and almost none in leadership roles.

Fast forward to today — I’ve been in IT for 4 years and now work as a Manager of Information Technology, and oversee security operations. 🚀

I started She Tech Collective because I’ve spent my career seeing how rare it is to find women in tech. We need more representation to show women that it’s possible — and to create a community where we support and lift each other up.
